Question : How can I redirect my temp files in Windows XP Embedded Standard?

I am having proplems with at thin client using Windows XP Embedded Standard when it comes to installing updates. It has a 1GB DOM and a 512MB DIMM. The 1GB DOM is set to system managed page file. When it downloads Windows updates it runs out of space. I currently have a USB 2GB flash drive (E:) plugged into it that I have redirected all the program installations to go to so as not to fill up C: and it is working fine. Is there a way to redirect temp files to this flash drive as well so that the updates can install correctly? I'm assuming they download to a temp directory before installing it to the system directory (C:)...

The updates are loaded to  C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution directory and you can delete Downloads subdirectory there. But I don't think that it is possible to change the SoftwareDistribution directory so it could load them to different folder. Simply clean up Downloads after updates installation is done.
