Question : winxp unstable

I have winXP prof on my lenovo laptop and software has become unstable.
I dont know why but my DVD isnt working well (freezes computer) and is being replaced in a few days. SOftware had been installed months ago and was working until yesterday.

Visual web developer wont run silverlight and I reinstalled VWD and SL and itr still doesnt work.
I cant uninstall VWD without errors now.
I cant install VS 2008 and I am getting errors.
The microsoft website is offline now for me and I cant connect to it.

THis is crazy.

If a System Restore does not work, and then reviewing your post, check if your recovery partition exists (F11 on Thinkpads and Lenovo laptops I think) and consider reimaging your machine.

Before reimaging: (1) back off all your data (including hidden data like email) and (2) see if you can run PC Doctor to determine if there are other hardware errrors.

With respect to recovery, you can get CD's from Lenovo if necessary.
