Question : Access Violation From Start Bar

Whenever I right click on the task bar then click remove on the Start Menu Programs tab, I get the following Dr Watson error,
Explorer.exe
Exception: Access Violation (0xc0000005),
Address: 0x715a5f94
I get dumped back to the desktop and half of the system tray icons dissapear.
Not sure when this started happening as I don't edit the Start Menu often. Tried uninstalling the last few programs but didn't help.

I thought it might be a corrupt Administrator profile but it doesn't seem to be because I can reproduce the fault logged on as Domain admin ,my domain User profile and as local Admin too.

Searched Microsoft but didn't find anything that quite matched or helped. Anyone here know what's up?

Using NT Workstation 4, SP4.  On a Compaq PII with 64Mb

Answer : Access Violation From Start Bar

Reinstall NT to a SEPERATE directory (ie WINNT2).
Does the problem recur ?
Probably not.
Point being that a base install of NT won't do this, so it must be some 3rd party application that you've installed that has messed things up !
