Question : How to access CD-ROM/Audio of Thin Client Device after login to Microsoft Terminal Server?

The contents below described the relation between Terminal Server and Thin Client device; is it possible to access cd-rom/audio device of Thin Client Device instead of access cd-rom/audio device of Terminal Server in case we need read/write data from/to Thin Client's CD-ROM or send mutimedia/audio sound to Thin Client's Audio device? do we need any special application for this purpose?

One Terminal Server and various number of thin stations. Terminal server will be always on, and it will support usual client like Windows 2000 and XP and thin clients. Usual clients will connect to the server as always. Thin clients after booting and none user intervention, will automaticaly connect to Windows Terminal Services server presenting the graphical log-in screen of Microsoft Terminal Server through RDP. Users need to enter username and password and they are ready to use thin clients;

Please advise.

Answer : How to access CD-ROM/Audio of Thin Client Device after login to Microsoft Terminal Server?

The additional software I was referring to depends on the thin client itself. I have done implementation of Wyse thin clients and it is not necessary to install this additional software inside each and every virtual environment - however, it is recommended for better end-user experience.

You may also want to look  into Windows Server 2008 and the Terminal Server 2008 in particular, as it comes with some really nice improvements over 2003.
