Question : Setup was unable to format the partition while using RIS
I have an Lenovo T-61 and I am trying to use RIS to install my Windows XPSP3 image. I get to the point where it asks me to format the Hard Drive I choose the partition it start the format then I get an error that Setup was unable to format the partition. The disk may be damage. The disk isn't damaged cause I used the restore disk and got the computer back to factory defaults. I think it has something to do with the Sata Drive. The hard drive is a 160gb drive.
Any ideas?
Answer : Setup was unable to format the partition while using RIS
Hi, try this :
When booting your lenovo box hit F1 on the bios screen.
Enter the BIOS and disable "SATA"... don't worry your drive will still be recognized.
Retry your format...
Let me know if this works....
