Question : Playing subtitles (.str) in Xbox 360

Hello Experts,

I wanted to upload my movies to my friend's xbox 360 to watch it on the beach, but he told me that it doesn't read subtitles like a normal pc or the old xbox... I was thinking about embed the subtitle in the avi, but it seems a bit "aggressive" with the movie...

Any suggestions??

Transcoding using something like ffdshow is probably the only way to get the subs to show :(
