Question : Reconnect Flash Disk/ Drive or USB
|
|
Windows200 and Windows XP
I plugged my flash drive. On clicking My Computer I can see (Reemoveable Disk G:) I copied some data onto the flash drive. Then I unplugged my flash drive properly, untill it said " The USB mass storage device can now be safely removed from the system' My copied data is secure. On clicking My Computer I can no longer see (Reemoveable Disk G:) the flash button from the quick lanuch tray gone. At this Point I want to reconnect my usb drive without removing and inserting the usb drive physically.

Yeah it can be done. But it would probably just as good to physically reconnect it.
But i wouldnt recommend doing it if you have other usb devices connected as it will temporarily disconnect them.
Click on Start button -> Click on Run -> type in "devmgmt.msc" without the quotes-> Click on OK.. This will open up the device manager.
Double click on the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" icon on the device manager, and you will now see a couple of "USB Root Hub". Right click on the first one, and select "Disable". Right click on it again and select enable. If the (Reemoveable Disk G:) has not returned, try the same process on the next usb root hub. If it has returned then close device manager.
This will definately work
