Question : Reconnect Flash Disk/ Drive or USB

Windows200
and
Windows XP

I plugged my flash drive.
On clicking My Computer I can see     (Reemoveable Disk G:)
I copied some data onto the flash drive.
Then I unplugged my flash drive properly, untill it said " The USB mass storage device can now be safely removed from the system'
My copied data is secure.
On clicking My Computer I can no longer see     (Reemoveable Disk G:)
the flash button from the quick lanuch tray gone.
At this Point I want to reconnect my usb drive without removing and inserting the usb drive physically.

Answer : Reconnect Flash Disk/ Drive or USB

Yeah it can be done. But it would probably just as good to physically reconnect it.

But i wouldnt recommend doing it if you have other usb devices connected as it will temporarily disconnect them.

Click on Start button -> Click on Run -> type in "devmgmt.msc" without the quotes-> Click on OK..
This will open up the device manager.

Double click on the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" icon on the device manager, and you will now see a couple of "USB Root Hub". Right click on the first one, and select "Disable". Right click on it again and select enable. If the (Reemoveable Disk G:) has not returned, try the same process on the next usb root hub. If it has returned then close device manager.

This will definately work
