Question : Another interesting excel - add concatenate to vlookup
|
|
Hi All, I have unique problem with vlookup this time. I am trying to add concatenate function in vlookup so that result brings me back the result of concatenate and its refrence number.
Here is the question:
I have 2 tabs in excel, and the first tab looks like this Full_Name Age Johnny Ola 16 Marlon Ho 24 Kim Sum 25
I need to fill Age column shown above from tab 2 below which looks like:
First_Name Last_Name Age Johnny Ola 16 Marlon Ho 24 Kim Sum 25
------------- So the question I want to repeat is that I am trying to do vlookup in first tab in 'Age' column which looks up full name in second tab which is split like Firs_ Name, Last_Name and Age. I know I can add extra column in tab 2 and concatenate the first and last name and then do the vlookup. But thats not how I want to do. I hope I am clear. Any help or suggestion will be really apreciated.

Can you post a sample just censoring the actual names so I can see what exact formula you are using and where? Regards, Rory
