Question : Page numbering to start from 3rd page.
|
|
I have put aside pages 1 and 2 for Introduction and Table of Content in a document. How can I make the page numbers for Introduction and Table of Content pages to read i and ii, respectively, and to start 1/10, 2/10, etc. from the third page.
Thank you.

Answer : Page numbering to start from 3rd page.

The key is to split your document into "sections". The "Introduction" and the "Table of Content" would be 2 different sections. You can do this by placing your cursor at the beginning of the second "section", click on "Insert", "Break...", Section break types: "Next page". This will split your document in 2 sections (without messing with your documents formatting... except for inserting a page-break if you don't have one... which you want anyways...).
The idea is that Microsoft Word lets you number every section independently of each other. After that you can play around with the page numbering until you get it the way you want.
I've attached an example document.
