Question : Sharepoint - Edit existing document error
|
|
Very new to Sharepoint. There is a document I cannot edit. Every time I try to save it, it returns an error. The URL 'Shared Documents/FileName.aspx’ is invalid. It may refer to a nonexistent file or folder, or refer to a valid file or folder that is not in the current Web. Microsofts site says this error occurs when the database is in read mode. How could this have happened and how do I get it out of read mode (if that is the issue of course)

Answer : Sharepoint - Edit existing document error

Hi there.
I certainly would like to know the answer to this since it has affected me and my team on a recent project. This error was appearing in SharePoint Designer when I tried to open an aspx file that was completely valid. Needless to say it drove me nuts, since I was unable to make changes to the file.
The end result was that I had to delete the aspx file in Designer and start again. It must be a configuration/data issue that is resulting in this error, since the file does exist and was not courrpt or anything.
I'll keep an eye on this thread. Jas.
