Question : How do I reduce the memory iexplore.exe is using, as it can get as high as 260,000k
|

Within 30 minutes of booting up my laptop, my laptop usually starts to slow down, then when I look in Task Manager, the memory it is using can be upto 250,000k. I want to know how I can find the problem causing this, then obviously fix that problem. I use Kaspersky 7, and a few other programs, and I have also purchase Registry Booster 2, but this hasn't helped
Cheers

When looking at the list of processes running in task manager, look at how many of them were started by your username. More than likely, you never actually started these applications, but they are apps that start automatically when you initially boot into the OS. Find out what these applications are, determine if you actually use them or not, or if they are important, and if not, remove them. The other thing to consider is looking at your Add/Remove Programs list.
Computer vendors usually install a bunch of needless, worthless programs on your computer that you will never use, but are set to automatically start when the computer is booted. Dell and HP are the two of the worst offenders of this. Go through this list and uninstall these worthless programs and get rid of any toolbars that you may have installed. Toolbars (such as Google, or Yahoo) can take up a lot of resources. Getting rid of any default Microsoft programs can help as well (such as MSN Messenger). Just be careful not to remove anything that looks or sounds important like, anything that says "driver", or MSXML, etc. etc.
