Question : Cannot add event reminder in Outlook 2007 from linked Sharepoint 2003 calendar
I'm running Sharepoint 2003 and created an events list (calendar) on the intranet. I linked the calendar to my Outlook 2007.
After creating a new event in the calendar from Sharepoint it shows up properly in Outlook. If I try to edit the event within Outlook and add a reminder, I get the following error when trying to save it:
"You cannot make changes to contents of this read-only folder." The changes do not save.
This article (

) talks about being able to edit Sharepoint events in Outlook with the changes being saved to a locally create sharepoint lists.pst file:
"A great benefit for this style of calendar is that a user can easily add reminders to SharePoint events (the events are copied to the users local folder when a reminder is added) without having to individually download each individual event on a calendar."
I verified that I do have this file created on my computer at \Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder.
How do I add reminders to linked Sharepoint 2003 events in Outlook 2007? Is this function improved with using Sharepoint 2007?
Answer : Cannot add event reminder in Outlook 2007 from linked Sharepoint 2003 calendar
There is only one way synchronisation with SharePoint Portal Server 2003. This functionality is dramatically improved in version 2007, which offers 2 way synchronisation.
If you have the option, then upgrade.
