Question : Public Folder Alerts

We have a public folder labeled Help Desk as a task list for user to enter IT issues.  I'm trying to figure out a way to email notifications of new and changed tasks to an external email source.  Any ideas.

I'd create a contact in AD, fill in the external email address, and then set the moderation e-mail messages to go to that contact.
