Question : Internet Explorer has stopped working
I installed Windows 7 Home Premium which of course is running Internet Explorer 8. It was working fine for a while now but about a week ago it decided it wanted to start giving the following error:
Internet Explorer has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
A very nice and vague error by MS. Way to go. I have looked online and done most of the suggestions I have found:
Reset Internet Explorer settings
Delete all the temporary files, cookies, etc.
Turn off protected mode
Ran it as administrator
Disabled all addons
Removed IE8 and then reinstalled it.
Still every time I try to load it I continue to get that error. I am using FF and would be more than happy to just stick with that, but now the problem is that when I try to open certain Outlook emails it crashes Outlook in the same manner. I can only guess that those emails must be trying to use IE in some manner.
Any ideas?
Thanks ahead of time.
Answer : Internet Explorer has stopped working
Good Afternoon,
Were any Windows Critical Updates applied within that week's time of IE8 crashing? Have you tried a System Restore?
