Question : Move Sysvol and NTDS
Hello,
I'm installing my first DC in my 2008R2 domain and have read that you should change where the NTDS database, logs and Sysvol database are located during the setup. Is this necessary for small organizations of 100 or less employees? I only have one disk on this server that is in a RAID1 configuration; however when I bring up the second DC it will have a raid 1 config for the OS and raid5 for the data. Should I move the sysvol and ntds on that machine to the raid5?
Thanks!
Answer : Move Sysvol and NTDS
It probably is not necessary from a performance perspective to move the Sysvol and NTDS files to a seperate drive. I would keep these files on C:\ on each server so that you are at least consistant on both DC's.
