Question : Stop comments from printing in Word 2007

How can I permanently stop Microsoft Word 2007 from printing comments?  I know how to do it each time I open and print a document -- either through the Review ribbon or by changing the Print dialog box to print Document Only.  But I don't want to have to make this change each and every time I generate a document from a template that contains a comment.

I tried making the change on the Review ribbon on the template and then resaving the template, but that didn't work either.

Hi -

I'm confused by what question you want answered.

For putting your path etc. in your document. Just make sure your font has the Hidden attribute. Then it will not print, although it will display when you have your Show/Hide turned on.

Ezucker is correct, that the display settings for your comments is saved on a document by document basis. Microsoft changed how documents opened when tracked changes were in the document. There were too many complaints about documents being sent with embarrassing information stored in the document, therefore, all documents are opened in Final Showing Markup by default.

You can choose to show the changes in balloons to the side, or inline. Those settigns are on a document by document basis.
