Question : Need to make some space on server - can I remove PCHEALTH folder

G'day experts

I need to do some housekeeping and notice the PCHEALTH folder on my 2003 Server is 2 gig.  What are the implications of removing this folder?  I perform a full nightly backup of this server to DDS.

I found this information

Note: I removed this safely on my box AND IT WORKS JUST FINE however note that by removing PCHEALTH you are essentially removing ANY form of online assistance and automated PC restoration - DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF YOUR SYSTEM ENTIRELY BY YOURSELF.

This was taken from http://www.techspot.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3521 and was written about XP but could still be relevant.

Thanks for thoughts

The OS does not need these to run.  They are simply the error files in an uncompressed state.  The only time you would need them is if you needed to get assistance from Microsoft.
