Question : Hard disk drive Iomega MDHD10T-U2 not running on Windows 7/XP?

I just bought an external hard drive, brand and model: Iomega MDHD10T-U2. It's quite an old drive. I plugged it in into my pc, but it didn't come up at 'My computer'. I believe there's nothing wrong with the USB-cable or the adapter, so that's not the problem. My computer is also recognizing the drive, but nothing more than that... Is this drive just not working on Windows 7 or XP (I use 7, but I plugged the drive in into a pc with Windows XP as well: same results), because it's too old?

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked that it is formatted already?

Go to my computer and right click, choose manage.
On the left hand side choose disk management, will take a few seconds but will show you all drives on your computer.
Disk0 is your C:
if you have other drives they will be disk 1 etc but if not the external should be in there as disk 1 (just double check the space of the drive so you know it matches the correct size of the external)
right click the drive then choose format (as you might see the drive but have no drive letter attached to it at the moment as it maybe a raw drive not ntfs).

Let me know what you see.
