Question : OOTB Approval Workflow without the emails?

I would like to use the OOTB Approval Workflow.   However,  I would like to disable the email notfications as there are too many

Can this be done without a custom workflow?  Thanks

I found on the Task List > List Settings > Advanced Settings there is an option for "Email Notification"
