Question : Nameing a Windows server
I plan on rebuilding (reformatting) a server that is currently on my jobs 2003 Windows server domain. After I un-join it from the domain, could I rebuild the server then rejoin it to the domain with the same computer name? Is this ok or will it cause problems? What steps would you recommend? Would you also recommend deleting the servers entry in Active Directory after it is un-joined or is that unnecessary?
Answer : Nameing a Windows server
you can do this but reset the computer account in Active Directory before rejoining it to the domain.
