Question : access error 3799 when backup or compact and repair

I now get an error "could not find field "Description" when I try to backup or do a Compact & Repair on my Access database.  This database is linked to a "backend" Access file and has a lot of code.  Help on the error says "(error 3799) A column that does not exist is being referenced"  Funny thing is that when I open previous backups and try to back those up or compact and repair, I also get the same error.
