Question : Accidentally removed all users from Server 2008

Can Anyone please advise me, I've inadvertantly done something silly.

Was trying to remove and reinstall Exchange 2007 from a Server 2008 SBS and it came up with an error saying it couldn't remove Exchange until I removed all mailboxes.  So I went to Exchange System Manager and removed the mailboxes.  Without realising it in removing the mailboxes it removed every single user account from the server.  Now most functions won't work (even control Panel) as it come up with an error saying I may not have the appropriate permissions.

I remembered all the usernames and passwords that were set up so I went into the SBS Console and added all the iser accounts again but I guess there is now a mismatch to the SID's.  Is there anyway I can at least get the admin account working again properly so that I can do all the ground work required to copy files and crib settings before wiping the hard drive and starting again.

Many thanks

Adam

Answer : Accidentally removed all users from Server 2008

Hi Adam,

wow i dont want to be in your shoes and i hope is not a production box.

I will do what i can to help you,

Lets start with the basics, Did you delete ALL users in AD?

Under which account were you log on when you deleted the users. It is not clear to me how the system would allow you to delete the current user.

Do you have a back up of the mail boxes? was there any mail in it?.

You do not seem very concern about their mail.
