Question : Internet Explorer 8 in Windows 7 does not display page

I have a new Dell Optiplex 960 with Windows 7 Ultimate.

If I go to www.xavier.edu and click on the "Athletics" tab, a) the page does not appear, b) an iexplore.exe process is started, and c) when I close Internet Explorer, 3 instances of iexplore.exe remain in Task Manager.

If If I go to www.sirius.com, click on Listen Online, and then click Launch Online Player, a) the Listen Online page does not appear, b) an iexplore.exe process is started, c) I get the following message:

Message: No such interface supported

and d) when I close Internet Explorer, 3 instances of iexplore.exe remain in Task Manager.

There are other examples of Internet Explorer pages not displaying and iexplore.exe processes not terminating when Internet Explorer is closed --- including trying to open existing emails or creating new emails in Microsoft OWA/Exchange 2007.

A Repair Install might help.

It will allow you to keep all your personal data, installed programs, settings, etc.
A Clean Install would be even better, but you will lose all personal data and programs.
