Question : Vista Security

I'm attempting to manually remove a virus from a vista computer. I removed the hard drive from the vista computer and put it in an XP computer using a USB to SATA cable. It was no problem removing the virus from Windows and System32 but when I attempted to access Users\user\Local Settings I get access denied. Normally, I'd just change the permissions or owner but I don't have a Security Tab in XP. I also can't access "Application Data", AppData, Cookies.

Basically, I just need to know how to access Vista's Special Folders when not in Vista.

Answer : Vista Security

I hope the version of windows xp you have should be of Home edition. Hence Boot the computer in safe mode and you will find the Security tab available in windows xp computer. Then change the permissions of the folder and perform the necessary actions.
