Question : Corrupt Administrator Profile on W2003 server running exchange, w/exchange db running on SAN attached as X:

I am having the same problem. when the Administrator account became corrupt it created one for administrator004, I need to also do this, but my question is that when you create another account are you doing this as a local account or domain account.  Maybe I am not understanding, but i am just so afraid to delete administrator, because not only is it windows 2003 server but it is also my exchange server.  If I do the above instruction, am I going to lose anything?  Please help me understand better.  My profiles on exchange look like the following:

On the exchange server, under Documents and Settings:
+Administrator
+administrator.NAMIRESOURCES.004
+ALL Users
+Default User
+LocalService
+NetworkService

This corruption happened when I became very low on C: drive hard disk space.  I still have a space issue because of the way dell partitioned it and also need to figure out the best way to take space from D: and give to C: without having to rebuild my exchange server.  My exchange database is running on a Lefthand SAN which shows as X: Exchange (san attached storage).  Any help I would appreciate as due to budget right now, I cannot purchase a upgraded server  at the moment.

Thanks

Answer : Corrupt Administrator Profile on W2003 server running exchange, w/exchange db running on SAN attached as X:

If the profile is corrupt, then simply reboot the machine and then either log in as a user with Admin rights on the server, or simply access the server using \\server\c$ and then rename the profile directories. Login as the Administrator.
Then get any data from the old profile directories that you need before deleting the old profiles.

The reboot is required to release the locks on the file system, which are not released by simply logging out.

Simon.
