Question : Function Keys Stopped Working After Upgrading To Windows 7

I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop 1545 Model PP41L.

I just recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit from Windows Vista 64 bit using an upgrade disc. Everything seems to work fine but my function keys don't work anymore. I need the function keys to work in order to toggle the wi-fi.

I read some suggestions online that said to re-install you keyboard driver in the device manager. Unfortunately that didn't work. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

Answer : Function Keys Stopped Working After Upgrading To Windows 7

I called Dell Support and they told me that the newer Dell laptops don't require that you have to press the FN key AND the Function key - you only need to hit the Function key by itself. Yo DO however need to have Quickset installed for that to work. So... I feel a little stupid, but also relieved that the problem wasn't something deeper.
