Question : event id 1639 warning message on blackberry server

we get an warning message on the blackberry server very often. the message is

The description for Event ID ( 1639 ) in Source ( MSExchangeCDO ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: EX:/O=MIP/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=username

I have checked with users and no one has complained so far about any issues. But this is getting piled up and would like to see what the issue is before it becomes a disaster.

any help on this regard is appreciated. my exchange is 2k7 with sp1. have chkd the cdo.dll file version on the blackberry server is 6.5.8039.0 and that on the exchange server is 6.5.8069.0

spoke to blackberry tech support who informed that the latest version of cdo which is 6.5.8131 is not yet compatible with bes and is still under testing phase.

thanks

Answer : event id 1639 warning message on blackberry server

Was that RIM tech support, or someone at a service provider?

Given that BES 4.x has now been superseded by 5.x, and how quickly RIM stop doing anything for the older versions, if you are going to wait for testing then you are going to be waiting for a very long time.

The information I had from MS when this was released was that it was simply a repackaging exercise and nothing had changed.

Take a read of this - most postings saying the same thing - use the latest version.
