Question : explorer view ie8 on windows 7 and wss 3.0
Hello,
I know this has been asked before (prob multible times) but can't seem to get an answer.
Has anybody been able to get explorer view to work on IE 8 for wss 3.0?
Computer is running windows 7, ie8(obviously) and sharepoint is wss 3.0
I have tried compatibility view, the site is in trusted (now in local actually)
web client is started and set to automatic.
clicking on explorer view will open up windows explorer but this is not a perfect solution.
on the same note, changing any list views will open up ms access, but will not embed access.
If this is seperate please ignore the access part and I will open another question, but it seems similiar.
Anybody figure this out?
Thanks,
Justin
Answer : explorer view ie8 on windows 7 and wss 3.0
They way I understand it is the Explorer View is indended to function in this fashion. It's no longer integrated in the browser and opened in a new explorer windows instead to give the user more control of how the data is presented.
