Question : Troubleshooting MS Update problem - related to KB970892 it seems

I have an update that hasn't been able to apply for a few weeks now. I just haven't had time to mess with it. What is the fix for it and the way to get this update applied?
How do I find info to troubleshoot this. I have looked at the log but the info there isn't really obvious or clear on this point. It seems there is a failure "code" but a search for it doesn't really help. Please no generic Google search results, etc. I have spent some time already looking into this and working on it. Let me know if some more info will help.
