Question : Outlook 2007 SBS 2008 (exchange 2007) Password Screen Popping Up

Hi Experts,

Got this odd problem on a Windows XP machine with Office 2007.

When open Outlook 2007, it goes in and about 5 seconds later it pops up with a Username and password box.

At top it says connecting in title bar it says connecting to sbs2008.mydomain.local

Then in the area where you enter the username, just above it says connecting to: remote.my-domain.co.uk

Where my-domain is my external domain name that SBS has setup for its secure cert.

I then prepoulates the username boc with mydomain\richard

I then put my password in which I know what it is and it does nothing, yet if you keep just pressing OK it goes away and Outlook seems to work fine. If you press cancel it them says in bottom right corner of Outlook "need password"

Thing is I dont know know why on this one pc it does it, all other PC's are XP and Outlook 2007.

Why is it trying to connect to my external DNS.

Checked DNS and SBS 2008 has setup a remote forward lookup zone with the internal ip of server. So if I ping remote.my-domain.co.uk it does reply from the SBS 2008 internal.

Checked Exchange OAB and changed internal address to be: https://sbs2008.my-domain.local

I ahve quite few SBS 2008 servers and not had this problem before. have used the wizards in the console to setup the server. Something seems to be not quite right with DNS or somthing.

Any one got any ideas?

Richard
