Question : LoadCursorBynum doesn't work

I'm trying to change the cursor from the standard arrow to a cross.  I have found the code that calls the LoadCursorBynum and SetCursor functions and have included in a module which I call from my form.

But the cursor never changes from the standard arrow.

Is there something else I am missing?  Like a property setting?

I am running Access97 on an XP machine.

I call the MouseCursor() function in a Form_Open() event.

MouseCursor() calls LoadCursorBynum and Setcursor just like in all the examples plastered across the web.
