Question : Subreport not showing

I have a report with a subreport. When I open the report, the subform is totally invisible. BUt if I open it in Design view, and then go back to report view, it shows. But the other records on the main report now duplicate. For example , when I switch back to report view, the subreport is visible but the same record on the main report shows 8 times. HELP!!

Do you have the sub-report linked to the main report using a common field say employee id, customer id, product id, etc.???
