Question : DNS web forwarding
|
|
Internal domain is example.com Our public website is the same as our internal one. Currently I have a www entry in DNS that points to the IP address of the public website. We are moving to a new website and I need to configure our internal DNS to forward www to the new website. Putting the IP address in is not an option. It must simply forward to the new newsite.example.com.

Answer : DNS web forwarding

well, now it's a little bit more clearer.
- you can change your firewall mapping to a new server IP
- if you have a load balancer you can rewrite the URL
- you can forward to a new site from your existing one, in the site properties in IIS manager, select Home Directory tab and click on "A redirection to a URL", enter newsite...... URL.
