Question : Outlook 2007 Recover email rules from old pst

Working with XP Pro, Outlook 2007 - NO EXCHANGE SERVER

Having problems with Outlook so we went to control panel | mail and deleted the existing profile and created a new one.

We then opened outlook, creating a new set of personal folders.  We then attached an old pst, and copy and pasted mail, calendar, tasks, contacts over.  So far, so good.

User has a zillion rules, but I did not export before this process started.

Is there a way to recover/import the rules from one of our various backups of the pst?  I know about the export import function for rules now... but did not know that at the time.

I tried attaching one of the old pst files... making it the default, closing and opening outlook... but the rules do not show up.   I may be missing something here.

Suggestions welcome.

Answer : Outlook 2007 Recover email rules from old pst

Hello Tomster2,

If the rules are not stored in the old PST file, then you must export your rules from old computer as rwz file and then import the file into the new computer.  If you did not export the rules, then they are lost. You have to create a new set of rules manually.

Hope this helps!
