Question : ODBC wizard does not run
|
|
My ODBC wizard does not show up any more when I try to link in SQL Server tables. I can click on "ODBC databases" on the list when I'm linking, but nothing happens. I have installed other software, like virus software this week, but don't know exactly when this started. I have SP2 installed, so that's not the problem. thanks for any help in advance. Please help, it's urgent!!

Sorry to be a pain - but did you *uninstall* first - then install? (OK - probably not with MDAC - that's a bit more fundamental. Hmmm)
I've never had ODBC drop out on me before - so hard to give you a definative answer.
Can you run ODBC admin from control panel? If not - is odbcad32.exe still in C:\WINDOWS\system32? What happens when you run it? (If you can get that much then creating your DSN here is all that really matters)
Can you establish ODBC connections on code? Can you create DSNless table links? (Can help with that if need be - not a fix, but would get you up and running again)
