Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 is a command line only version of Server 2008, which has a very limited GUI for setting up a couple of the basic functions. It is intended to be used only as a host and is therefore missing many Server 2008 features such as the Backup utility. Unfortunately it also cannot be added. As a rule folk running several of these servers will use other Microsoft services such as System Center and Data Protection Manager to backup the VM's.
