Question : xbox 360 show as mapped or connected external drive to PC

I have an Xbox360 which is connected via hardwire ethernet to my router.
I have an external TB (terabyte) drive connected to the Xbox360 via USB
I am using WinXP (NOT Media Edition)

How can I map the external USB drive OR the xbox360 to my PC

1. I can already stream files to the Xbox360 (I used NeroMediaHome)
2. The Xbox360 is already on the network and can receive from PC and go out on XBoxLive
3. The External USB TB Drive can play files on the Xbox360.

I do not want to keep moving the external drive everytime I want access to the data on that drive. Is there a way to map the drive or map the xbox360.

Answer : xbox 360 show as mapped or connected external drive to PC

Every network device does have an IP address associated with it, that's normal. However, that doesn't give you filesharing capabilities unless there's a software service on the device to allow you to do so.  The 360 doesn't and it's impossible to add one.  I understand what you're trying to accomplish, but sometimes unfortunately the answer is "it can't be done", and that is the case here.  That's why I suggested the streaming alternative.  I understand that streaming has some limitations as well, but in your case, it's the only way to allow simultaneous access to the drive from the PC and the 360.

Wish I had better news for you. Hope the info helps!
