Question : Client-only rules in Outlook 2003

Hi,

We have a bunch of active directory groups which receive emails from outside the organisation which then forward to a particular box and which need to be moved to various folders based on rules. This box which a particular department all have open as an 'additional box'.

When creating the rules i am told that they are client-only rules which leaves me having to leave this mailbox open in an outlook somewhere.

Is there a way to create a server side rule to move email received via a group to a selected folder?

Answer : Client-only rules in Outlook 2003

If Outlook can make the rules server side, then it will do so by default.
If the rules are being set as client side then something about the rules means that they cannot be processed by Exchange, they need to be done so by Outlook. You will need to revise the rules to make them client side.

Simon.
