Question : Adobe hijacks all programs in Vista

I have a Vista Business laptop on which I installed Adobe Reader 8.1. Now most of my programs, including exe, are seen as adobe applications and I can't open them. I don't have the "open with" on the menu. I also tried to associate a file type with a program in Control Panel but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Answer : Adobe hijacks all programs in Vista

To re-associate a file type with another program, at the file explorer, select the file and right click > properties. At the Properties dialog - open with - click "change" button and select the rightful program to open the file. By checking the "Always use the selected program..." to make this the default program to the file type.
