Question : ERROR IN OUTLOOK - "MAPI FAILUE VALID SESSION ID DOES NOT EXIST"

Hello,

   I have a user that is trying to email out of our Software.  He clicks on the File>Email>Forms, this allows him to pick whatever forms he'd like to send in his email and wraps them up in a PDF format.  Once he has choosen his forms, he clicks the Send button, and at that point it his default email application whatever it is, is suppose to open.  Instead of the default email application opening he is getting this error, "MAPI FAILURE VALID SESSION ID DOES NOT EXIST"

Things I've done so far to try and correct his problem:

1. Had user click Start/Run and type in:  Mailto:[email protected] to see if in fact MSN was set as his default email.  It is.

2.  Had user click Start/Run and type in:  regsvr32 -u MSMAPI32.OCX and unregistered the Active X control, then had him re-registerthe control by doing a regsvr32 MSMAPI32.OCX.  This did not help.

    Any further suggestions on this issue woudl be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

Victor

Answer : ERROR IN OUTLOOK - "MAPI FAILUE VALID SESSION ID DOES NOT EXIST"

Sounds like there isn't a default mail program set.  You can change this in Internet Explorer by doing:

Tools->Internet Options->"Programs" tab
Setting the "Mail" drop-down to "Microsoft Outlook"

Internet Explorer, in turn sets the following registry value, so if the above doesn't work check/change this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail
(default) = "Microsoft Outlook"
