Question : WSUS 3.0 server motherboard

Hi Experts,

We have WSUS 3.0 server running on the network. Recently the servers motherboard gone bad and we are not finding exact model replacement. We want to connect new motherboard  to the old harddrive of WSUS.

So in this case do I need to reinstall OS ( Windows 2003 server) and WSUS 3.0 again  OR Just repair will do my work?

Please help.

Answer : WSUS 3.0 server motherboard

I would give that a shot.During the repair install the new mother board drivers, then once you get into the OS just run the windows update and it will grab any service pack/ updates you are missing.

But I still think that you might be wasting your time with the repair, with the time you spend trying to get the repair working and new drivers, you could have just done a fresh install, install WSUS and then you could just name the machine the same as before and you would not have to modify any GPOs for the WSUS settings.
