Question : Windows7 in a 2003 domain

We have a 50 user Windows 2003 based network.  Untl recently, all client PC's were XP and all was fine.  We have decided to start buying Windows7 PC's as we replace old ones, and I am having touble with this first batch.  My issue is all users have their My Dicuments folders redirected to a server drive.  I created a new GPO for users who are moving to Windows7 that reidirects their My Documents to the same folder on the server for all users in the"Windows 7" group.  I have added these users to that group, but no redirection takes place.  It's like the policy is totally ignored when the user logs in.  Am I missing something?

The best thing to now would be to look up the various Microsoft references on redirecting My Documents. Some such references are:
