Question : Word cannot obtain the data for the excel.sheet.12

Everytime I try to link an excel file in word by doing a special paste and then selecting from a link and then selecting as an excel object it gives me the error word cannot obtain the data for the excel.sheet.12 link. I have tried installing SP1 for office 2007. After that didn't work I then renamed the normal.dot file to normal.dot.old and that didn't do anything so I then went ot teh registry and renamed Wordold:  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word by putting old behind it. That also did nothing. I need to fix this ASAP any help would be greatly aprreciated.

Try copying the contents of Excel Sheet12 to another (new) workbook and see if there is an issue with your excel workbook (corrupted) for example?
