Question : SBS 2008 slow internet browsing

Hello Experts,

I have just finished putting in a Dell T300 running SBS 2008 Std (x64).
File browsing from clients is ok but internet is slow which makes me think its a DNS thing.
All clients are XP Pro and use the SBS's DHCP for addressing.

Client DNS is set to the server's NIC and the default gateway points to the router.
On the server it point to itself for DNS and to the router for the default gateway.

A download test on the server from the ISP was fine. I have swapped the router, switch and patch leads but still no joy.

There are no DNS errors in Event Viewer. Forwarders are set to the ISP's DNS. It also passes both tests on the monitoring tab.

Have run ipconfig /flushdns on the clients, restarted DNS, rebooted the server, etc

Any help appreciated

Our tests with Forefront have been excellent:

We use www.exchangedefender.com for our clients and our own e-mail sanitation. We are then able to set filters in place for SMTP traffic both inbound and outbound to ED's SMTP servers only. This reduces an attack vector spammers like to use by directly connecting to your SMTP server.

Check out the hits after setting the filters:
