Question : How do i get XP OEM key off HP laptop?

I purchased an HP laptop and downgraded the OS to XP from Vista.  I configured the laptop and then ran sysprep.  I then copied the image and now i let the pc boot and its asking for the OEM Key.  Well HP didnt put the XP oem sticker on the bottom they leave the default Vista OEM sticker on the bottom, so now i dont have a key.  HP says they dont ship out the XP OEM stickers anymore its all defaulted to Vista, and that they dont know what the XP OEM is on the system i have because its tied into the restore disk.  So im wondering if i do a restore from the HP XP restore disk is there a way to find out what the key is from the registry or something?
