Question : SSIS error code DTS_E_CannotAcquireConnect<wbr />ionfromCon<wbr />nectionMan<wbr />ager

HI

I have a package that runs well on my local machine. But when i create the DTSConfig and Deploymentmanifest file and run it (even on my own machine) , i get the above error .

It also said there maybe error messages posted before this with more information on why acquireconnection method failed. Could someone pls help me in fixing this error and telling where I could find the error messages with more info.

The actual package at designer also stops working with the same error message when i create the dtsconfig file.  How can i solve that without having to create a new connection manager from scratch and add it to the ole db source.

Answer : SSIS error code DTS_E_CannotAcquireConnect<wbr />ionfromCon<wbr />nectionMan<wbr />ager

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services. Expand Component Services, and then expand Computers.  
2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.  
3.  Click the MSDTC tab, and then click Security Configuration.  
4.  Make sure that the following check boxes are selected:  
" Network DTC Access  
" Allow Remote Clients  
" Allow Remote Administration  
" Allow Inbound  
" Allow Outbound  
" No Authentication Required  
5. Make sure that the DTC Logon Account is set to NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService.  
 
6. Add MSDTC.exe as an exception in Windows Firewall.
