Question : RIS Image problems

I am running into an odd problem with a RIS image. I'm not sure if it is due to the new workstations or a simple mistake I am overlooking. Our office has purchased 3 new Dell Optipled 330 machines. We wanted to RIS an image with XP pro and other software onto them but get the error
"Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.

Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on......."

When i try to use a basic WIN XP image, it gives the same error. If I try to create a new image, I can only use the disk supplied by Dell. We have a Volume license install disk but that causes a Blue screen of Death when booted to that CD.

Using the supplied CD, I setup the system as I needed it with all needed installs and created a new image thinking maybe it was an issue with the HAL of the different model Dells that we have images for. Created a new image without a problem but when i try and push it out, I get the same error where its not detecting the hard disk. Suggestions?

Answer : RIS Image problems

More than likely that the machines use SATA drives for which you have no driver installed. If available, set the sisk to legacy mode in the BIOS, otherwise you will need to download the SATA drivers ans include these in the image.
