Question : Cannot Install SP4 on Windows 2000 Server

We are running a Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 3.  When we attempt to install SP4, we receive the following error message:

Service Pack installation did not complete. Select 'OK' to undo the changes that have been made, or select 'Cancel' to quit. If you select 'Cancel', your system will be left in a partially updated state and may not work correctly.

We've tried everything in KB 834647 to no avail.

Any other solutions or ideas?

Answer : Cannot Install SP4 on Windows 2000 Server

try this out... its a cut / paste from google groups

First, you must download and install the following patch:

Q313664: Using 802.1x Authentication on Computers Running Windows 2000
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;313664)

After that reboot your system an try to install SP4 one more time.

This should help.
