Question : How to configure VPN access on SBS 2008

I would like to enable VPN access on SBS 2008 standard.

When you go through the SBS interface to do this, it automatically configures network access protection (NAP).

I wish to have no NAP, since the requirement for this business, is they can connect in, from any computer (that may not have a NAP client setup).

With the current situation, you can remotely connect into the VPN server (connection and authentication is fine), but your status in RRAS is 'not nap capable'.
It also seems the client is in a 'quarantine'. A Vista client shows as 'limited connectivity' when you make the VPN connection, and you cannot communicate with icmp or smb networking (trying to connect to the SBS box).

So, is there a way I can disable NAP?
I would like to know if there is a way to do this through the SBS interface rather than the RRAS or network policy server consoles if possible.

Thanks

Answer : How to configure VPN access on SBS 2008

harrowc, if you setup the vpn in sbs via the wizard, it will not ask your for NAP ;

I did this just today and my clients connect from anywhere and sbs is the vpn server (PPTP), i just checked the NAP mmc and it isn't configured

I would recommend, to remove the vpn role from your server and then use the vpn wizard to configure it ; in network > connectivity tab

Which is why I posted the link which does setup the vpn server without NAP through the wizard ; it seems that you didn't configured it via the wizard.

Let me know if you need further help on this.
