Question : System Volume Information directory needs purging on Winodws SBS 2003 Server.

My client has a Windows 2003 SBS server installed on one partition and the C:\System Volume Information directory is growing in size. Please keep in mind that I am not permitted to add hardware to the existing server environment, therefore, I am limited to a single partition for system and user shares.

Am I able to disable the "Shadow Copy" then re-enable it to clean it the System Volume Information directory.?

Thanking you kindly for you assistance.

Answer : System Volume Information directory needs purging on Winodws SBS 2003 Server.

If you have shadow copy turned on for your shares, System Volume Information will grow in size because that is where your shadow copies are stored. If you turn off shadow copy, that will remove your existing snapshots, however it will just grow again as the shadow copies are rebuilt when you turn it back on.
